Describe the two periods before editing
Write the intended opening and closing times for each session and the day or days they apply to. Keep the periods on the same day rather than assuming a window rolls across midnight. Check whether the family actually needs two periods or whether one clear window would be easier to understand. A second window adds another allowed opportunity; it is not a way to narrow a wider window already assigned to the same day.
Review all windows for that day
In the web portal’s Schedules page, select the child and inspect every existing window that includes the day. A broad all-day window can make the intended gap disappear because any matching window can allow viewing. Remove or revise only the rules you intend to change, and check the displayed bedtime cutoff. Save the schedule and reopen it to confirm the expected periods remain. Avoid adding a new restrictive-looking window while leaving a broader one in place and assuming the stricter one wins.
Test the gap as well as the sessions
The useful verification includes a time inside each period and a time in the intended gap, using the appropriate connected PARE Kids device. Explain the two-session plan to the child so the gap is not a surprise. If the result differs, capture the relevant rule times, timezone, and visible message without private account information. The schedule applies to PARE viewing; it does not create matching limits in unrelated games, browsers, or communication apps.
