Start with the question you are trying to answer
If you want to change the search setting, open Settings, choose the child, and inspect YouTube search filter. If you are deciding whether the child can view a specific result, review that video and use the appropriate approval workflow instead. Avoid treating a search result’s presence as evidence that PARE has certified it for your family. The title, thumbnail, creator, and actual content still provide context for the parent’s decision.
Save the selected filter deliberately
Choose Strict or Moderate as offered by the portal and use Save child settings. The current interface does not offer a fully unfiltered choice. Wait for the saved state and read any error before leaving the page. Check the intended child’s connected PARE Kids experience after refresh. Do not change the filter merely to make one unreviewed result easier to find if the actual unresolved question is whether that content fits the family’s plan.
Keep the layers understandable for the child
Explain that search helps find possibilities while approval records what the caregiver has chosen. If the child cannot find or play a video, identify which stage is involved before changing several controls. A schedule, pause, channel decision, and individual approval are separate things to inspect. PARE’s search filter is not a device-wide setting for every browser or app, and broader editorial articles about other services do not extend this control to those services.
