Identify the message before retrying

Check whether the child app reports expiration, an invalid code, or a temporary attempt limit. These are different situations. Confirm that both devices are online and that you selected the intended child in PARE Parent. Avoid trying several old screenshots or exchanging codes between siblings. The current pairing flow uses an eight-character letters-and-numbers code; the child’s four-digit PIN is a separate credential and will not substitute for it.

Restart the pairing attempt cleanly

Open the pairing screen for the same intended child and generate a fresh code when appropriate. Keep the new display visible while completing the child prompt. Do not repeatedly regenerate while the other device is still attempting an older code, because the earlier unused code will no longer work. If the app reports too many attempts, follow the wait instruction it gives rather than continuing to guess. Keep the code private throughout the process.

Check the outcome before changing accounts

A successful pairing should lead to the intended child’s PARE experience. Confirm that result before deciding the problem is resolved. If the same specific error remains after the appropriate fresh attempt or waiting period, contact PARE support with the app, device, software version, and error description. Do not create duplicate child profiles or a new parent household solely to bypass the pairing issue. Those changes can make it harder to identify which account and device were meant to be connected.
