Confirm the intended account and household
Check that you are signed in to the household you want the other parent to join. The invitation is for an existing parent account, not a child pairing code or a public signup link. Explain the intended role and sharing arrangement through the appropriate adult conversation. Do not post the token in a public group or ask the child to carry it between adults. Keep the token out of support screenshots and ordinary notes visible to other people.
Create and accept the token deliberately
The web portal offers expiry choices of twenty-four hours, three days, or seven days. After creating the token, use Copy token if needed and check its displayed expiry. The receiving adult opens Join another PARE household, enters the token, and reads the confirmation that their account will leave its current household and move into the inviting one. Do not treat that confirmation as a routine dismissal; it describes an account change beyond simply opening a shared page.
Verify membership and manage an unused invite
After acceptance, confirm that the receiving parent sees the intended household. If the token is no longer needed before use, the inviting parent can choose Revoke and confirm the action. An expired or revoked token should not be reused; create a new appropriate invitation only after resolving the reason. If acceptance fails, read the error and contact support when needed instead of creating duplicate parent accounts. The invitation workflow should support a clear adult access decision, not obscure which household an account belongs to.
