Choose the child before generating the code
Look at the selected child’s name in PARE Parent rather than assuming the last profile opened is the one you want. If the child has not been added, complete that parent workflow and review the parental notice first. A pairing code connects the child device to the selected profile; it is different from the child’s four-digit PIN and from a parent password. Do not enter one credential into another prompt merely because both are called a code in ordinary conversation.
Use the current code privately
Scan the QR code through PARE Kids or enter the displayed manual code as the app directs. The manual code is not case-sensitive. Watch the expiry indicator on the parent screen, and use the newest code if one has been regenerated. Do not post a code in a public help thread or include it in a support screenshot. If pairing fails, read the specific message before retrying so an expired code is not mistaken for a need to create another child profile.
Confirm the paired experience
After pairing succeeds, check that the child sees the expected profile and approved viewing arrangement. Try a known approved video or another harmless first step with the caregiver present. If the result does not match the intended household, stop and resolve the pairing question before continuing. PARE support asks for the app name, device model, software version, and a concise description; it does not need your password, child PIN, or pairing token to begin helping.
