Before a child uses PARE

Parent notice and consent.

What PARE collects from a child profile, why it is needed, where it goes, and the controls available to a parent or legal guardian.

Read this before adding a child

PARE is a caregiver-managed service. An adult creates the household, starts or restores the PARE Family entitlement, reviews this notice, and gives consent before PARE creates a child profile. A child does not create an account with an email address.

Operator: Logan Moore, PARE Media. Questions, review requests, withdrawals of consent, and deletion requests can be sent to logan@paremedia.com from the parent account email.

Child information PARE collects

  • The child display name supplied by the parent, a securely hashed four-digit PIN, household membership, and device-pairing status.
  • Search text, selected results, video requests, approval outcomes, approved-content history, and kid-created playlist names and video identifiers.
  • Video identifiers, viewing and app-session times, seconds watched, playback readiness or errors, and limited device status such as battery level and push-notification token.

PARE does not ask a child for an email address, phone number, precise location, photo, contacts, or payment information. Optional voice search uses Apple’s on-device recognition; PARE receives only the search text the child submits.

Why PARE uses it

  • Provide the child app and the parent-approved viewing space.
  • Deliver a child’s request to the parent and return the parent’s decision.
  • Show the parent search, viewing, and screen-time records for that household.
  • Operate pairing, schedules, pause, content filters, notifications, security, support, and service reliability.

Who can receive it

PARE does not sell child information and does not use it for behavioral advertising. PARE discloses information only to providers needed to operate the service, including Apple services, PARE’s hosting provider, and Google/YouTube when a search or approved-video feature needs YouTube data. Those providers may process technical request information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Your choices

  • Review child profile, request, search, and viewing records in PARE Parent.
  • Correct the child display name or reset the PIN.
  • Delete a child profile and associated child records to withdraw consent.
  • Delete the entire household account and its associated records.
  • Ask PARE to review or delete information by contacting the operator above.

Consent is recorded only after the parent checks the consent statement inside PARE Parent. The record includes the notice version, time, authenticated parent account, and consent method; it does not copy the child’s name into the consent audit entry.
