1. Find and review the channel

In PARE Parent, open Channels & child access and choose Find channels. Search for the creator or browse the available starting points, then open the channel details. Confirm the creator’s identity and sample newer and older uploads, different series, guests, sponsorships, and other changes in format before choosing Add channel.
Match the size of the permission to what you reviewed. If your child asked for one paper-airplane tutorial and that is the only upload you checked, approve that video instead of the whole channel. Adding a channel is a broader household decision, not a safety certification for every current or future upload.
2. Choose child access and upload handling
Return to Channels & child access and stay on the Allowed view. Under Available to, select the child profiles that should receive the channel, then choose Save child access. PARE requires at least one selected child for this action; if nobody should have the channel, use Remove instead of leaving an empty assignment.
Review Auto-approve new uploads as a separate setting, not a per-video review gate. Turning it off does not narrow an allowed channel to individually reviewed uploads: videos from a channel allowed for a child can still be playable. If you want each upload reviewed, remove the broader channel permission and approve only the specific videos you have checked. A familiar creator can still change topics, collaborators, sponsors, or tone.
3. Oversee the channel and change course
Use the Allowed, Trusted packs, and Blocked views to oversee the household’s channel decisions. In Allowed, search your channels, open Review details, check the approved-video count and watch time, and revisit the child assignments and Auto-approve new uploads setting. Set a reason to review again, such as a new format, collaborator, sponsor, or concern raised by a child.
If the whole creator no longer fits, choose Remove and read the confirmation: the channel and currently approved videos from it will leave PARE Kids on refresh. Removing a block is different; it only makes the channel eligible for approval again. If you narrow the decision back to one video, explain the boundary plainly: “This video fits what you asked for. I have not approved the whole channel.”
